Berkhamsted is a large school of over 1,800 pupils aged 3 – 18. Berkhamsted is a selective school with 53.5% of students achieving A*/A at A Level, and at 72.1% achieving grades 7-9 at GCSE. Each year 5-10 students attain entry to Oxford and Cambridge. Over 100 students in Sixth Form achieve entry to one of the Top 20 UK universities.
Full boarding is available for students aged 13-18 years in one of our two boarding houses for girls and boys. The capacity for 85 boarding students including weekly/flexi boarders who are usually British students. There are 2 entry points: from Year 9 from the start of our GCSE courses, and Year 12 at the start of our A Level courses.
Most students attending our Senior Girls School and Sixth Form are day students. Boarders will experience life at a traditional English Independent School in a historic market town and enjoy the benefits of being part of a small diverse boarding community. Academically Berkhamsted offers students unrivalled opportunities, with 27 A Level subject options, taught within a disciplined and supportive environment.
