Cheltenham Ladies’ College opened in 1854 to provide girls with an education equal to that of boys, and today, we continue to be proud of our tradition of innovation, excellence and empowerment in the education of young women.
Our GCSE, A Level and IB results are consistently excellent. We have been named top girls' boarding school in the country for IB in three of the last four years, and repeatedly recognised as the best independent school in the South West of England.
The future we are preparing our pupils for is full of excitement and challenge. While academic achievements are important, these must go hand-in-hand with cocurricular activities that interest and challenge them, a community that supports them, and opportunities to pursue passions and learn from failure. Our wide-ranging programmes offer opportunities to undertake new experiences and we are committed to helping every girl to find the talent and potential that lie within.
By nurturing well-rounded and self-confident girls, we help them to leave College as inspirational and empowered young women. Our leavers choose a variety of paths for future study, from medicine, law or engineering, to design, animation or drama: this is testament to the independent thinking, creativity and self-belief actively encouraged and thriving within our College community.
