Headington School is a leading day and boarding school for girls aged three to 18. Set in 23 acres just a mile from Oxford city centre, facilities include a brand new, state-of-the-art library built in 2016, a first class Music School and a purpose-built 240-seat Theatre.

The Art School contains four art studios and a photography darkroom. In April 2015 a multimillion pound Dance and Fitness Centre was completed including a fully equipped gym, training rooms and a large dance studio equipped with a Harlequin dance floor. Other sports facilities include a floodlit all-weather pitch, sports hall and a light and airy 25 m indoor pool. In September 2021, a new Creativity & Innovation Centre, the Hive, will open, providing a new home for Fine Art, Sculpture, Photography, and Fashion Textiles, as well as a hub for cross-curricular learning with a focus on sustainability, enterprise and technology.

An education at Headington prepares girls for every aspect of life. The School’s results regularly place it among the top schools in the country, with girls going on to study at top universities around the world. As well as offering an extremely broad curriculum with more than 20 subjects offered throughout the Lower and Middle Schools and a choice of nearly 30 A Level subjects in the Sixth Form, the School offers an excellent extra-curricular programme, with more than 150 clubs and activities to choose from including Languages, Drama, Dance, CCF and student-led societies such as Amnesty international and FemSoc. Girls carry on with PE into the Sixth Form, and partake in a wide range of sports from Fencing and Equestrian to Cheerleading and Football.

There are currently over 45 different nationalities represented throughout the School, reflecting Oxford’s diverse make-up.

Headington girls are intellectually curious, emotionally confident, kind and considerate to each other and to adults. Teaching is second to none, and we pride ourselves on adding value.
