Cheltenham Ladies’ College opened in 1854 to provide girls with an education equal to that of boys, and today, we continue to be proud of our tradition of innovation, excellence and empowerment in the education of young women.

Our GCSE, A Level and IB results are consistently excellent. We have been named top girls' boarding school in the country for IB in three of the last four years, and repeatedly recognised as the best independent school in the South West of England.

The future we are preparing our pupils for is full of excitement and challenge. While academic achievements are important, these must go hand-in-hand with cocurricular activities that interest and challenge them, a community that supports them, and opportunities to pursue passions and learn from failure. Our wide-ranging programmes offer opportunities to undertake new experiences and we are committed to helping every girl to find the talent and potential that lie within.

By nurturing well-rounded and self-confident girls, we help them to leave College as inspirational and empowered young women. Our leavers choose a variety of paths for future study, from medicine, law or engineering, to design, animation or drama: this is testament to the independent thinking, creativity and self-belief actively encouraged and thriving within our College community.

St George’s, only 25 minutes from London and eight miles from Heathrow, is one of the leading girls’ boarding and day schools in the UK. Deliberately small, every girl at St George’s is known individually and supported by a close network of teaching and pastoral staff who focus on enabling every student to excel not only academically, but also to develop their creative, physical, spiritual and imaginative interests. With outstanding value-added, results are excellent with St George’s aiming to help the girls achieve 1.5 grades higher at A Level.

Boarding is homely and comfortable and an experienced team of House Staff organise an array of weekend trips and excursions. Socially and in activities and societies, the girls regularly mix with boys at Eton College, Winchester and Harrow. The Arts are fabulous with facilities including a 350 seat theatre, separate drama studio and dance studio and the choir perform regularly at many prestigious venues including St Paul’s Cathedral in London. Many budding artists gain places at prestigious universities. Lacrosse, netball, tennis, swimming, lacrosse, athletics, rounders, squash and polo are all played competitively and facilities are extensive.
