Built on more than 120 years’ experience of educating young women, our learning environment is supportive, yet challenging, preparing girls to be successful leaders – of themselves and others – through an exceptional school experience. We offer outstanding teaching provided by subject specialists, who encourage curiosity, innovation and academic risk-taking.
We believe that education is not simply about delivering a curriculum and examination syllabus, but that real learning stems from stimulating intellectual interest and nurturing a love of subjects which will stay with our girls throughout their lives. Wycombe Abbey is consistently one of the country’s top-performing schools and sends approximately half of its cohort to Oxbridge and Ivy League universities year on year. Based on our A level and I/GCSE results, Wycombe Abbey was ranked as the fifth top Independent Secondary School in the UK by The Sunday Times’ Parent Power supplement.
The School is set in 170 acres of magnificent grounds, 35 miles west of London. Modern, first-class facilities include the Sports Centre, with a 25-metre indoor pool, the Performing Arts Centre, an atrium café, dance and fitness studios, climbing wall, squash courts and extensive sports pitches and facilities. Year 7 pupils go into Junior House, then Year 8-12 pupils join one of nine houses in mixed-age dorms. Year 13 accommodation encourages independence and is a stepping stone to university life.
